A secretive network of Dark Knights. An organization for them, and those that support their cause, to gather as one amidst the shadows. A home for the disenfranchised and unwanted peoples of Eorzea and beyond. Shelter, fellowship, purpose, and vengeance can be found amidst these darkened halls for any that will abide by the secrecy and dedication to the cause.Decades ago, a Dark Knight by the name of Ostwick Trieneux had a dream. For he and his fellow pariahs in the dark to grow stronger together. Unified, they would be able to face their enemies together, rather than be picked off one by one. A dream he shared with his apprentices: Loyce and Maroux.Together, the three of them built this dream into a network, hidden from the eyes of the Holy See by a shroud of ebon. With this, they hoped to unify what Dark Knights they could find under their already shared cause of fighting injustice. This dream, however, would eventually fall dormant. Paranoia and betrayal caused the death of Ostwick and Maroux, causing the Ebonshroud to disband and fall dormant along with their Sanctuary.That, it would remain.. Until, decades later, Loyce Eldrin took up the mantle of Knight-Speaker and reignited the Ebonshroud's abyssal flame. Recruiting agents to his cause, apprentices to his path, and benefactors to support their efforts in secrecy. Their Sanctuary would be reclaimed, and their purpose reborn.Not only would the Ebonshroud serve to unite and train a new generation of Dark Knights. So too would it give a place and purpose to any that have been cast aside.Protect the weak. Punish the wicked. This creed wrought in blood and compassion is the singular purpose that binds these pariahs and disparate vigilantes together.

Please note, just because EE is a vigilante organization doesn't mean they don't work with criminals! They are criminals!RP Themes?: EE is an FC that deals heavily in Adventure, Mystery, Vigilante, Occult, Action, Investigation, Light Hearted Shenanigans and ofc a nice dose of non-suffering porn Dark Fantasy. on top of themes of Corruption, Retribution, and a healthy splash of Morally Gray bullshittery. Ebonshroud is not a villain FC. Puppy kickers and flesh-peddlers will be bisected in an alleyway on sight.Schedule?: EE is based in Eastern Standard Time and events are hosted within that timezone as well, usually around 8pm EST. Days for the events are voted on in advance! People from any timezone are welcome, but please keep this in mind when it comes to the standard events. Outside of those, it's just whenever folks are around and tagged up. Be it early morning, mid day, or complete degen hours.Mare? Lightless? Snowcloak???: There is no 'official' EE sync shell for any of these crime-sharing tools. People are free to pair amongst themselves, but there is a strict rule of 'vanilla must match crimes'. At least as best as people are able.Do I need to be a Dark Knight ICly to join?: Nope! Just like it says in the About section, EE is a group for Dark Knights and people that support their cause. Be they knights, mages, civilians, criminals etc.Do I need to join the in-game Free Company to be in EE ICly?: Also no! Part of what keeps the Ebonshroud as a secret organization is hiding in plain sight. You can be within any RP group or OOC FC and still be apart of the Ebonshroud organization / RP community. We organize our RP and events via CWLS in-game and an OOC discord.Benefactors?: Does your character want to support violent vigilantes without being directly involved with the field work? Benefactor might just be for you. Benefactor characters are not ICly part of EE, but can be involved in supporting their needs in a backgrounded capacity.How do I join?: Feel free to reach out to Loyce Eldrin @ Mateus if you're interested!
